Privacy Policy – Modify Society

At Modify Society, operated by Zyrix Technologies LLC, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign up as a partner (business), we also collect your business name, address, phone number, website, social media handles, and business type.
• Location Data: We collect your device’s location to help display nearby car meets and enhance your experience within the app. This is essential for app functionality.
• Usage Data: We collect data about how you interact with the app to improve features and performance.
• Device Information: We may collect basic information such as device type, operating system, and app version to ensure compatibility and security.
• Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid partner plan, payment details are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe issues us a customer identifier only.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide location-based event listings and recommendations
• To create and manage your account, including authentication and password recovery
• To display your business on the map if you are a partner
• To send you emails related to your account and the service (see Section 3)
• To improve app performance and fix issues
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Emails and Communications

When you create an account, you will receive the following types of emails from us:

• Transactional emails (always sent, required for the service):
  • Account confirmation / email verification
  • Password reset links you request
  • Security alerts (e.g., new device sign-in)
  • Subscription receipts and billing notices for paid plans
  • Direct replies from Modify Society staff about your account or a support inquiry
• Service notifications (occasional, related to your use of the app):
  • Reminders about events you saved or RSVP'd to
  • Weekly digest of car meets near your area (only if you opt in)
  • Important product updates or changes to policies
• Partner-facing emails (only for partner/business accounts):
  • Onboarding tips, subscription reminders, and analytics summaries for your shop pin
  • Outreach or follow-ups related to your partner listing

Opting out: You can unsubscribe from optional service and marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email footer, or by emailing support@modifysociety.com. Transactional emails cannot be turned off while your account is active, because they are required to operate the service. To stop all emails, delete your account (see Section 6).

We do not sell your email address to third parties, and we do not use it to send promotional emails from other companies.

4. Advertising and Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate Modify Society. Each provider handles the data described below and has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — user authentication and database. Stores your email, hashed password, and account metadata. supabase.com/privacy
• Resend — email delivery. Processes the emails we send you (transactional and service). resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
• Stripe — payment processing for partner subscriptions only. stripe.com/privacy
• Firebase (Google) — analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• AdMob (Google) — in-app advertising. May collect anonymized data for analytics and ad personalization. policies.google.com/privacy

5. Data Security

We use encryption and secure protocols to protect your data. While no system is 100% secure, we follow industry standards and best practices to minimize risk.

6. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Update your account information at any time from the app's Settings.
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing support@modifysociety.com. Account deletion also stops all emails.
• Portability: Request an export of your data in a common machine-readable format.
• Objection / restriction: Ask us to stop using your data for specific purposes.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after any updates constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
